Margaret Brake

Margaret R. Brake is a Senior Consultant for Bixler Consulting Group, Inc. and has been part of our team since 2003.  She has over 20 years of experience in leadership development and organizational effectiveness and has worked with a wide variety of industries including financial services, telecommunications, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, government, and non-profit.  Margaret specializes in helping executives and their teams develop the skills and strategies needed to improve individual, team and organizational performance.

A highly effective workshop facilitator, consultant and executive coach, Margaret has coached managers and executives at senior levels.

Her areas of focus include effective communication skills, political savvy, executive presence, motivating teams and individuals, and leading and managing change.  She works with leaders to identify and leverage their strengths while minimizing potential liabilities and derailers to career success.

Margaret has held executive-level positions in leadership development at Bank of America, Bass Hotels and Resorts (now InterContinental Hotels Group) and MCI Telecommunications.  In these roles, she has developed leaders at all levels of the organization and has designed enterprise-wide processes including performance management, talent planning and training.  She has also led major organizational changes to reduce costs, drive business growth and respond to changing customer needs.  As an executive coach and consultant, her client list includes companies such as Hilton Worldwide, UPS, the  Centers for Disease Control, First Horizon National Corporation, Turner Broadcasting, Cox Communications, Merck, ING, Home Depot, Solvay Pharmaceuticals, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

Margaret holds an M.B.A. in Management and an M.S. in Counseling from Georgia State University as well as a B.S. in Psychology cum laude from the University of Florida.  She is certified to administer a number of leadership and personality assessment instruments including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument. The Bixler 360-Degree Report, and the Hogan Leadership Series.  She has published articles in major professional journals.

She is an active member of her community and is a partner with Emory University in their Executive MBA program.
